What is Short Term Accommodation (STA) or Respite?

Short Term Accommodation (STA) or respite is a support option for participants and carers to take a well deserved break from their everyday life. Funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), this temporary accommodation support service is offered alongside informal supports and other NDIS-funded services.

Short term accommodation is typically funded for up to 28 days under Core Supports in a participants NDIS plan. As a flexible accommodation solution, you can access short stay respite services as you see fit. You may wish to access it for emergency respite care, or arrange a tailored holiday experience.
